Educational Technology Infrastructure Review and Implementation Planning Flat Toads has extensive experience in school technology reviews. As a part of our on-site consultation service, you may choose any of the following areas for us to focus on. We will interview stakeholders within each area in order to get an accurate representation of your school’s goal, objectives and strategies. We’ll then consolidate our findings with our recommendations into a final report. Should you wish further assistance in deployment or development of these recommendations, either we will assist you further or find a more appropriate party to do so.
Infrastructure – those aspects of the systems that are foundational, transcend distinction between academic or administrative, and which other aspects are dependent upon.
Systems Support – the means by which technology problems are prevented, diagnosed and resolved; it also involves the methodology by which technology items are inventoried and amortized.
Academic Technology – how technology is used in support of improving pedagogy and opportunities for learning; such opportunities are equally applicable to teacher and student.
Professional Development – opportunities for faculty, staff and administration to increase their individual comprehension of technology and to develop a facility for meta-level comprehension (i.e., understand the interrelated parts of complex systems).
Administrative Technology or Student Information Systems - how technology is used in support of the public perception, management and operations of the school. Typically these systems store and organize data related each individual student.
Underpinning the Academic Technology and Professional Development areas is an important area that we will work with your school to develop -- the learning objectives for each grade level that articulate what skills and understandings, vis-a-vis technology, each student must experience in order to prepare for subsequent years. From this, we will development a Professional Development plan to ensure that your teachers are prepared to teach as well as check for understanding on each of the objectives.
Our final report will be organized by our perceived priority; however,we will assist you to pick and choose, aligning the recommendations to your school’s reigning priorities. We will offer a composite of the overall philosophic approach toward technology integration (based on conversations across the entire constituency) which might serve as an interesting comparison to the school’s stated objectives. Together these should provide a useful context to situate the implementation of the recommendations.
